《立場新聞》及環球多個媒體確認，Whatsapp、IG、FB 暫時無法登入。
無法登入時間約為 10 月 4 日深夜 11:50 左右。除上述三款軟件外，其他相關軟件如 Facebook Workplace，據報亦無法登入。
初步顯示，故障是全球問題，不限地域。科技傳媒 Techcrunch 估計，今次故障起因是 DNS (Domain Name Server) 出現問題。
英國 INDEPENDENT、路透社亦有報道故障情況。
登入 FB 時畫面僅顯示「Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can.」
Facebook 在 twitter 表示，注意到部份用家登入其軟件有困難，facebook 正在處理，並就帶來不便致歉。
